Before we went on outreach I was talking to all the village kids and the Lord pointed one out to me to be friends with. His name is Minito. In this culture boys are not valued very highly. It is a challenge here it has not been all good for 300 westerners a year to come to Pemba. Many of the children are always asking for everything which was not the case at first. Now we are instructed not to give to them which is hard because they do not have much. It is more important of course to look out for them in the long run. I love giving Minito my friendship, it is teaching me so much, it challenges me a lot but I love it. Its also hard getting to know him because of the language barrier I know ‘um poco’ Potuguese and he knows ‘a little’ English. But love transcends…
